When the communal BJP government maliciously brought in the Prohibition of Conversion Act, a party delegation led by National Secretary Alphonse Franco of the SDPI met the Governor and urged him not to sign the bill. Apart from that, there was a statewide protest against the bill. Now the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah has repealed the Prohibition of Conversion Act.
