Press Release

Gulbarga, Sept 11:
At the SDPI leaders’ meeting held in Gulbarga today, the party’s State General Secretary Afsar Kodlipete delivered a keynote address on the topic “Everyone’s Contribution to Social Transformation.”

In his speech, he stated:
“Merely dreaming of change in society is not enough. Transformation is possible only when every individual contributes in their own way. Though the path of change is long and difficult, it is everyone’s responsibility. To establish justice, equality, and brotherhood, we need faith, hard work, and commitment. SDPI members must dedicate their time, energy, and resources to people-oriented struggles.”

“Even today, thousands of backward communities, minorities, and the poor are fighting for justice. Our cadres have endured police brutality, false cases, and imprisonment while standing up for their rights. This is clear evidence of their commitment. SDPI is not merely a political party—it is the voice of the oppressed and a symbol of the common people’s dreams. Therefore, every leader, cadre, and supporter must understand their role and contribute to this path of transformation,” he emphasized.

The meeting also discussed the ongoing exploitation of farmers in Kalaburagi district. It was noted with concern that expired pesticides and fertilizers were being sold in Raitha Samparka Kendras (Farmers’ Service Centers), and that some fertilizer shops were charging nearly double the MRP—an act of grave injustice. District President Mohammad Mohsin strongly condemned this and demanded that strict action be taken immediately against such shopkeepers as well as the negligence of the Agriculture Department.

In addition, issues concerning farmers’ distress, unemployment, education, and healthcare were discussed.

On this occasion, SDPI National Committee Member Professor Syeda Saadia and State Committee Member Abdul Raheem Patel spoke about the importance of strengthening the organization and fundraising.

District Vice President Maqbool Ahmed, General Secretaries Dr. Rizwan and Ibrahim Patel, Women India Movement District President, along with district committee members and constituency-level leaders, actively participated in the meeting.
