Our motto is to give corruption-free and nepotism-free governance: SDPI State President Abdul Majeed
Mysuru, Sept.19:
Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) State President Abdul Majeed said giving corruption-free and nepotism-free governance is our motto.
Presiding over the consultation meeting with the winners of Town Panchayat, Town Municipality, City Municipality and Corporations on the SDPI symbol, he said all the governments of various political parties that ruled the country in the last 75 years had indulged in corruption, nepotism, maladministration and anti-people policies and indulged in atrocities on the citizens. They have observed that even parties which claimed themselves as secular have also joined hands with the communal parties and have been cheating minorities. On the other hand, those parties were indirectly supporting the ‘Manuvada’, and committing atrocities on Dalits. The incumbent fascist government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was openly doing it. The minorities, especially the Muslims are forced to live in this scary situation. In this situation, the Dalits are facing the danger of getting into the quagmire of untouchability as prevailed pre-Constitution era. It is a tragedy that such things are going on without any opposition from anyone.
Majeed called upon the SDPI elected representatives to fulfill the aspirations enshrined in the Constitution written by Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar and work for the welfare of people by making use of their powers.
C.Shankar, a resource person, spoke on the Municipal Act and policies and rules of the local self-governments. SDPI State General Secretary Abdul Latheef delivered a lecture on ‘qualities of a successful leader’. Abdul Hannan, member,National Committee and in-charge of the elected representatives welcomed and State Secretary Shafi Bellary proposed a vote of thanks.
The elected members shared their experiences, challenges and obstacles they faced during work.
